Regina Hall Discusses Baked Beans, The Secret to Glowing Skin, and Turning 55

Summer is synonymous with cookouts, social gatherings, and indulging in delicious (albeit sometimes messy) food. Last week, actress and producer Regina Hall joined forces with Bounty—the brand famously known for being ‘The Quicker Picker Upper’—to host a BBQ at Arlo SoHo in New York. During the event, Hall shared her favorite summer cleanup hacks and beauty essentials for the season.

Why this partnership?

“It just made perfect sense because it’s something I genuinely use in my daily life. Authenticity matters, and Bounty is a product I use frequently. I’m always reaching for paper towels, so much so that I joke they must have been keeping an eye on me. They probably saw my kitchen and thought, ‘Let’s get the whole family involved!’

What’s your go-to cookout dish?

“I’m all about staying hydrated in the heat, so I love a refreshing spritzer. As for food, nothing beats a good BBQ—wings, ribs, burgers, you name it. I’m also a fan of classic sides like baked beans, potato salad, and macaroni and cheese. And of course, the grill is key to making everything taste even better.”

What are your summer beauty essentials?

“Sunscreen is a must, no question! But I truly believe summer is great for the skin. A lot of people don’t realize just how beneficial humidity can be. It’s almost like a natural treatment that clears out your pores and gives your skin a radiant glow. I like to embrace the warmth instead of blasting the A/C all day long. Natural heat might not always feel great, but trust me, it’s good for your skin in the long run.”

Do you have any summer vacation plans?

“Ah! Usually, I try to take a vacation once a year, but with my work schedule this year, it’s a bit tricky. Still, I’m hoping to sneak away for a little getaway. The good news is that I’ll be working in Nantucket this year, and it’s supposed to be gorgeous there. I’ve never been, so I’m planning to take a weekend off to enjoy a bit of a Nantucket vacation!”

And with your 55th birthday approaching, how do you feel?

“Oh no, I don’t know if I’m ready to hear that number! It kind of feels like a shock to the system, to be honest. But hey, I’ve got so much to be thankful for, and I’m learning to embrace every day. Life itself is the greatest gift, and I’m grateful for each moment I get.”
